Product Focus: Styccobond F3

A closer look at F. Ball’s Styccobond F3, which, over 50 years since its original launch, is still the UK’s most popular adhesive for textile floorcoverings.

What is it?

Styccobond F3 is a water-based rubber/resin flooring adhesive that is suitable for installing a wide range of textile floorcoverings. It offers excellent wet grab, rapidly builds up a high bond strength and is protected against bio-degradation.

Where is it used?

The adhesive can be used to secure hessian, felt, secondary latex and rubber foam backed carpets, as well as cork tiles up to 3.2mm thick. It can be applied over Stopgap levelling compounds, structurally sound, smooth, dry subfloors of concrete and sand/cement screed, plywood, flooring grade chipboard and hardboard. It is also suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems and approved for use in marine flooring installations.

Something you might not know about the product:

Styccobond F3 is compatible with almost all carpets and over 70% of the 6,000 floorcoverings listed in F. Ball’s Recommended Adhesives Guide (RAG), the 2020 edition of which is now available.
