Product Focus: Stopgap P141

For this month’s product focus, we put F. Ball’s brand new primer for non-absorbent surfaces, Stopgap P141, in the spotlight.

What is it?

Stopgap P141 is a fast-drying acrylic primer that has been specially formulated to promote adhesion between Stopgap levelling compounds and non-absorbent subfloors. It dries to create a textured surface for enhanced bond performance.

Where is it used?

Over a wide range of non-absorbent surfaces, including ceramic tiles, treated power floated concrete and Stopgap waterproof surface membranes.

It is ideal for use over non-absorbent surfaces ahead of the application of levelling compounds at thicknesses above 20mm, such as when using Stopgap 600 – the strong bond created between the subfloor and levelling compound when using P141 is better able to withstand the increased stress that thicker levelling compounds experience when drying.

What’s different about it?

Stopgap P141 contains recycled uPVC pulver, which creates a hard, textured surface to enhance bond performance. Its fast-drying properties mean that it is dry in just 15 minutes when applied over non-absorbent surfaces.

Something you might not know about the product:

It is suitable for use in marine applications in conjunction with F. Ball marine approved floor levelling compounds and adhesives. Also, it’s pigmented yellow for visual control of coverage uniformity.
