F. Ball Finalist at 20th CFJ/CFA Awards

Projects using F. Ball products have been shortlisted for two awards at the 20th annual CFJ/CFA Awards.

Taking place at the Park Lane Hilton in London on Friday 14 June, this year’s awards saw a new format, with the focus on installation partnerships between flooring contractors and manufacturers. The winners will be announced in a special supplement in the August edition of CFJ.

F. Ball was nominated for ‘Best use of flooring in Transport’ for helping Hull-based Total Flooringto deliver a high-performance refurbishment for several deck areas on a P&O ferry, while the ship was in dry dock in Gdansk, Poland. The company was also shortlisted in the ‘Best use of flooring in a factory’ category for whencontractors from Contract Flooring in Cornwall used F. Ball products as part of a high-speed rail installation to install vinyl safety flooring over an area of 400m2at the new Great Western Railway train depot in Penzance.

Hosted by Eddie the Eagle, the event saw luminaries from across the flooring industry come together to celebrate winning projects in 17 categories. Eddie the Eagle gave an inspirational speech detailing his career and life, before presenting the winners with their awards. There were also awards for Apprentice of the Year, Distributor and Manufacturer of the Year, a Lifetime Achievement for the oldest flooring contractor in the UK; and an overall trophy for the best of the winners.

The winners were selected by an independent judging panel, including FM consultant, Fiona Bowman, architect, Simon Jackson, flooring contractor, John Butler, independent flooring consultant, Richard Renouf and CEO of the CFA, Richard Catt.
