F. Ball Production Operative retires after 48 years

Mark Hughes, F. Ball Managing Director (L) with Stuart Corden (R).
F. Ball’s longest standing employee, Production Operative, Stuart Corden, has retired after a landmark 48 years with the company.

Stuart joined as an office worker at age 16 in 1969, before moving over to the production department.

He has witnessed many changes throughout his time with F. Ball, not least the relocation of the company to its current site in Cheddleton from its previous home in Leek. He is proud to have been involved in the company’s growth and has seen huge progress and modernisation in production technology since he joined the industry.

Stuart commented: “F. Ball is a really wonderful company to work for and I have been very well looked after in my 48 years here. I will miss the camaraderie within the factory and hope to stay in touch with all of the good friends that I have made throughout my time with the company.”

In his retirement, Stuart plans to take advantage of his good health and extra free time by enjoying weekends away, spending time outdoors walking his dog and supporting his local football team, Stoke City. He is also looking forward to having more time to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren.
