New appointment reinforces F. Ball’s commitment to Health and Safety, Quality and the Environment


F. Ball has appointed Jenny Barnett to a newly created role of SHEQ Manager, responsible for health and safety, environmental management and quality systems.

Having worked in the adhesives industry for 16 years, Jenny initially worked in quality and analytical laboratories, before moving into HS&E management in 2007.

Prior to that she held similar positions in the pigments and coatings industry and electronics manufacturing.

Jenny’s key focuses as SHEQ Manager are to ensure F. Ball maintains a programme of continuous improvement in all areas of SHEQ activity, operates to best practice standards, and complies with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Degree-qualified with a BSc (Hons) in molecular science, Jenny also holds a level 6 diploma in occupational safety and health.

She is currently Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Working Group for BASA (British Adhesives and Sealants Association), a member of BASA’s Health and Safety Working Group, and a graduate member of the Institution of Safety and Health (IOSH).

Married with a 10-year-old son and a labradoodle dog, Jenny spends time outside of work involved in artistic and literary pursuits, including painting, music, arts and crafts, and reading. She also likes to take advantage of her caravan in Wales and enjoy the delights of walking along the Welsh coast.
