Mark Hughes has been appointed Managing Director of F. Ball and Co Ltd. as James Igoe, who held the post since 2003, takes over as Chairman. Mark Hughes was previously Managing Director of Caswell Adhesives, a wholly owned subsidiary of F. Ball and Co. Ltd. The company remains under the continued ownership of Mr G W Ball, who stepped down as Chairman at the end of 2015.
Mark brings a wealth of experience to his new role as MD of F. Ball and Co. Ltd., having been involved in the manufacturing of specialist adhesives for a range of industries. Having been a part of the F. Ball group since 2005, he has an extensive knowledge of the flooring industry, and will be focused on maintaining and building on F. Ball’s leading position in the flooring market.
James Igoe served as Managing Director from 2003 to 2016, overseeing a period of significant growth for the company. He has spent his entire professional career in the construction industry, and has considerable expertise within the adhesives industry, particularly with regard to the flooring sector. He is a long-serving representative for F. Ball within the British Adhesives and Sealants Association (BASA), and was at one point the organisation’s Chairman. His wealth of experience, success as MD, and wide-ranging knowledge of the industry makes him well-placed to guide F. Ball into the future.
Commenting on his appointment as Managing Director, Mark Hughes said: “I am relishing the chance to take on the challenges that come with being MD of a company as established and successful as F. Ball and Co. Ltd. I will be working to maintain and build on James’ many successes, with a continuing focus on customer satisfaction and product innovation. Those are the things that keep F. James Igoe also commented on his new role: “I certainly enjoyed my time as Managing Director, but I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chairman. It is important that F. Ball stays focused on the things that sets it apart from other manufacturers; a genuine desire to pre-empt the needs of flooring contractors, and provide them with high quality products that will make their lives significantly easier. It is my job as Chairman to keep F. Ball on the same upward trajectory.”
